I know this is supposed to be the “Pepsi 400” this year, but just once could we bring back the old name? 135,000 soldiers are still stationed over in Iraq, with more in Afghanistan. Since this race honors the beginning of our great Nation, our Independence Day, can’t we honor today’s heroes by bringing back an old name? Perhaps the Fire Cracker 400 Presented by Pepsi would have a great ring! This Fourth of July Holiday fly your flag with pride! Maybe spend just a few hours of this holiday giving thanks to our troops by visiting a Veterans Hospital or helping out a local family with loved ones in harms way. If you happen to run into someone in uniform stop and thank them for their sacrifice to honor our freedom. No matter how you feel about this so-called “War on Terror,” you have to respect the way our servicemen and women have represented our great Nation. That deserves our thanks and NASCAR’s honoring of our great Nation by bringing back an old name. Enjoy the Fire Cracker 400 this week!
