The move to alter the fuel system on Harvick’s car might be the dumbest rule infraction since Mayfield’s team altered their fuel at California a few years ago. Expect a suspension, point penalty, and a huge fine!
Robin Leach as the pre-race MC? NASCAR keeps getting stranger all the time!
Ryan Newman earned more points this week. Tangling with Jeff Gordon and not backing down shows that Ryan is on a mission to win this season!
Race Grade B
These flatter tracks are not custom built for NASCAR but the racing here does seem to get a little better every year.
F for Crew Chief Todd Berrier
This has to be the most dumbest move seen in NASCAR history! Harvick showed his team just how unimportant qualifying is and yet they broke the rule blatently and now face a stiff penalty.
D for Dale Earnhardt Jr
Lap 12 is the time for more give and take than Junior allowed Brian Vickers. This sure looked like a rookie mistake!
C for Mike Wallace
Just imagine how good he would be in Rusty’s car? Mike Wallace might just be the best of the Wallace brothers and has improved the Morgan McClure Lucas Chevy’s performance so far this season.
B for Kevin Harvick
Two penaltys, one in qualifying and one in the race, had Harvick working hard all day. No one passed more cars all day. If this team can get through a race without any issues they are likely to end the day in Victory Lane.
A for Jimmie Johnson
The car might have measured a little low in post-race inspection, but no one was going to catch Johnson this week. This team is in championship form and is the best bet to stay in the top three all year long.
