The Frontstretch Foto Funnies! Indianapolis, July 2010

Kurt Smith · Tuesday July 27, 2010

Editor’s Note: Frontstretch is proud to bring back the popular Foto Funnies! Every Wednesday, our Kurt Smith will take a handful of pictures from last weekend’s race and tell us what “really” happened in those Kodak moments. So, in honor of Sunday’s race, here’s a few behind-the-scenes captions from what happened during the “Chip Ganassi Triple Crown Weekend” … er, Brickyard 400 out in Indianapolis!

Chicagoland
Gateway

When he took the lead at Indianapolis, Jamie McMurray finally put to rest the absurd theory that he was the only one racing without a restrictor plate at Daytona and Talladega.

“Harvick had to go run his mouth! Someone took the golden horseshoe! And I haven’t even cleaned it from last week yet!”

“Now we’ll see what Wonderboy can do with a lil’ golden horseshoe!”

“Ha ha, unlucky helmet. You can’t get me with that one two years in a row, Jamie!”

“I don’t know whether we should take two or four, Brian. Maybe we can ask the 1 team.”

Not to be outdone by Dale Jarrett, McMurray hoped to start a new Indy tradition of French-kissing the bricks.
