Marcos Ambrose Driver Diary: Not Quite The Way We Planned

Marcos Ambrose · Thursday February 18, 2010

Marcos Ambrose returns to fill us in on Speedweeks from his point of view. Marcos will keep us up to date on his Sprint Cup Series season every month. If you have anything you’d like to ask Marcos, we encourage you to submit your questions so he can answer them in future diaries!

We had a great Speedweeks. We didn’t finish the race; we had an oil leak. It’s unfortunate because we really had a marvelous run up until that point in the race. The whole week went great. We had top speed and we looked smart all week. It’s just a shame it didn’t work out for us.

Marcos Ambrose Driver Diary: Christmas at the Beach

2010 Frontstretch Driver Diary
Marcos Ambrose · Tuesday February 2, 2010

I find it really important to get work and lifestyle in order. So, when our NASCAR season wound down, I quickly hopped on the first bird I could get on and got home to my family to try to get back to normality for a little while. It also gives me some time to reflect on the New Year and what I need to do to be a better race car driver. I’ve had a great offseason. I went fishing and mountain climbing and spent time with family and had a good Christmas. I feel rejuvenated and ready to go.

I’ve got two beautiful little girls, 2 and 4, who spend four months in Australia and the rest of the time here in the U.S. with me and that’s just great that we’re able to move our family around. When I’m not racing full time I’m pretty much trying to be a good Dad if I can.

If I get a half chance when I’m out on the road, I try to find some outdoor adventure to do like climb a mountain or go gold prospecting or fish or raft in a river. It’s pretty much whatever goes.
