Wood Brothers Racing and Jon Wood To Test Darlington Raceway

Tuesday July 8, 2008

Harrisburg, NC ( July 8, 2008)-Wood Brothers Racing and Jon Wood will be testing the no. 21 Ford F-150 at Darlington Raceway for two consecutive days starting Wednesday July, 9th.

The no. 21 team will be bringing the same truck that was raced in Michigan and Texas where it ran in the top 5 and finished 10th. Even though the truck has had good race results, the team’s goal for this test is to improve their intermediate track program.

Crew Chief John Monsam commented on the team’s upcoming test. He said, “We just need to get our aero package back to the way it used to be. We haven’t quite been able to get the new body changes that NASCAR implemented at the beginning of the season where we need them to be, so we’re trying to get the balance back and hope to accomplish that by testing Darlington these next two days.”

The test data will also be useful in preparation for Kentucky, an intermediate, one and one half mile track, which is the next race on the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series schedule. Jon Wood will pilot The Barnhill Group Ford F-150 in the Built Ford Tough 225 on Saturday, July 19th.
