DODGE AT KANSAS SPEEDWAY
· Dodge has earned one victory in the seven Sprint Cup races contested at Kansas Speedway. Penske South Racing’s Ryan Newman won the 2003 Banquet 400 by ConAgra Foods, edging out Gillett Evernham teammates Bill Elliott and Jeremy Mayfield.
· Dodge earned the first-ever Sprint Cup pole position (2001) at Kansas Speedway. Former Dodge driver Jason Leffler circled the 1.5-mile oval at 176.499 mph. Leffler finished 26th in the race.
· The 2003 event at Kansas Speedway was the first time Dodge finished 1-2-3 since their return to Cup racing in 2001 (Newman, Elliott and Mayfield).
· The 2003 event was the first time Dodge placed five cars in the top-10 at a single event since their return to Cup racing in 2001 (Jamie McMurray and Rusty Wallace also finished in the top 10).
· Current Dodge drivers Kurt Bush (2001) and Ryan Newman (2002) each earned Raybestos Rookie of the Year honors at Kansas Speedway. Former Dodge driver Jamie McMurray earned the same honor in 2003.
· Kasey Kahne earned Dodge its first pole at Kansas Speedway in 2006 with a lap of 178.377 mph. Kahne led 11 laps in the race before finishing 33rd.

THE DODGE BOYS
· Kasey Kahne recorded the 200th win by Dodge in the Sprint Cup Series with his victory in the Pocono 500 at Pocono Raceway earlier this year.
· Kurt Bush gave Dodge its last Sprint Cup victory when he won the LENOX Industrial 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in June.
· In 2003, Ryan Newman gave Dodge its only win at Kansas. Newman’s No. 12 Alltel Dodge started 11th and led 28 of 400 laps.
· Newman became the youngest winner at Kansas when he won the 2003 event at 25 years, 0 months, 27 days.
· Newman holds the Kansas Speedway track record for fewest laps led by a race winner – 28 laps.
· Newman and Jeff Gordon are tied for the most top-five finishes at Kansas Speedway with three each.

KANSAS SPEEDWAY TRACK FACTS
· In 1996, International Speedway Corporation began exploring the idea of building a track in the Midwest. Bonds were sold in 1998 and construction on the 1.5-mile tri-oval began a year later. Paving on the track begin in September 2000 and construction was completed in the spring of 2001.
· Kansas Speedway is a 1.5-mile oval with the corners banked 15 degrees, the front stretch 10.4 degrees and the backstretch 5.0 degrees.

RAYBESTOS ROOKIE OF THE YEAR STANDINGS
· Sam Hornish Jr. – The three-time IndyCar Series champion and 2006 Indy 500 winner sits only three points shy of first place in the Raybestos Rookie of the Year standings.
· Patrick Carpentier – The driver of the No. 10 Dodge Charger from Gillett Evernham Motorsports currently sits 36th in driver points.
· Hornish Jr. and Carpentier are outside the top 35 in owner points and must secure a spot in the field during Friday’s qualifying session at Kansas Speedway.

DID YOU KNOW?
· Ryan Newman (No. 12 Alltel Dodge Charger) is the only rookie with a top-five finish at Kansas Speedway (2002).
· In four of seven Cup races held at Kansas Speedway, Dodge drivers have led the most laps – (Rusty Wallace 117 laps in 200, Bill Elliott 115 laps in 2003, Jeremy Mayfield 72 laps in 2004 and Kurt Busch 76 laps in 2007).
· Only one Sprint Cup race has been won from the pole at Kansas. No Cup race has been won from outside of the 21st qualifying position. All seven winners have qualified in different starting positions.
· The state of Kansas is the site of a motorsports first — the first National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) national event was held in Great Bend in 1955.
· Ontario (California) Speedway was the site of NASCAR’s 1,000th race. The race winner was A.J. Foyt on Feb. 28, 1971. The 2.5-mile track was leveled in 1981.
