Quoting Hitachi Power Tools driver Travis Kvapil on Charlotte:
“Our team has a bit of momentum right now. Even though we didn’t get the finish we deserved at Talladega last week, we had a great race running up towards the front the majority of the race, and of course the pole award. I think that everyone on the team is excited about running at Charlotte this week because it gives us an opportunity to be home for a race. We tested at Charlotte a few weeks ago and were very happy with the car’s speed. This is a long race and Charlotte is so fast that you really have to focus all race long since things can happen so quickly there. The race also shifts from day to night time so we also have to make sure we have a lot of adjustability built into our car for this weekend.”
Quoting Hitachi Power Tools crew chief Todd Parrott on Charlotte:
“The car we’re racing at Charlotte this weekend is the same car we tested at Lowe’s Motor Speedway a few weeks ago. We also last ran this car at Indianapolis, where unfortunately, we weren’t able to showcase our car’s true performance. Night racing at Charlotte is always exciting so I’m looking forward to this weekend’s race. Our team had a tremendous weekend at Talladega last week with Travis (Kvapil) capturing the pole, so even though we were caught up in a wreck at the end, we have a lot of excitement and momentum within our No. 28 team right now. Travis has had some success racing at Charlotte, so I think that we’ll have another great weekend for our Hitachi Power Tools race team.”
