Raybestos Rookie Bank of America 500 Final Practice: Sam Hornish Jr.

Saturday October 11, 2008

RAYBESTOS® ROOKIE CONTENDER HAPPY HOUR QUOTES FOR THE BANK OF AMERICA 500 NASCAR SPRINT CUP SERIES RACE AT LOWE’S MOTOR SPEEDWAY, OCTOBER 10, 2008, PAGE 3.

Raybestos Rookie Sam Hornish Jr. was involved in an accident during tonight’s final practice session. He will use a backup car in the Bank of America 500. He posted the 19th best overall speed in the session. Regan Smith was the top Raybestos Rookie, logging the 14th best overall time.

SAM HORNISH JR., No. 77 MOBIL 1 DODGE: WHAT HAPPENED? DID YOUR CAR GET LOOSE? “More or less. We just tried to run some different lines because there’s so many different places that you have to be able to run at here if you want to pass anybody. I started to run up top, make sure that the car was going to work up there and got really loose going into one. There wasn’t much I could do about it, just tried to hold on and keep it as minimal as I could. The Mobil 1 Dodge wasn’t bad. It’s a shame that we’ve got to go to the backup car and that that happened. But I think we’ve got a really good car to bring out here. Unfortunately it just makes a lot of work for the guys.”
