WIX Filters Lap Leader News and Notes: TUMS QuikPak 500

NEWS AND NOTES FROM THE WIX FILTERS LAP LEADER PROGRAMNASCAR SPRINT CUP SERIES

· Jimmie Johnson leads Kyle Busch by one race (10-9) in the overall WIX Filters Lap Leader standings entering the TUMS QuikPak 500 at Martinsville (Va.) Speedway. Johnson has taken the honor in FOUR OF THE LAST FIVE races and has led 1,369 laps in 25 races this season. He has led at least one lap in the last SEVEN CONSECUTIVE NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races.

· Jimmie Johnson earned WIX Filters Lap Leader of the Race honors in the 2008 Goody’s Cool Orange 500 at Martinsville (race No. 6), leading a race-high 135 of 500 laps.

· Jeff Gordon led a race-high 168 laps to capture WIX Filters Lap Leader of the Race honors in the 2007 TUMS QuikPak 500.

· The average finish of the driver leading the most laps in the 10 most recent TUMS QuikPak 500 races at Martinsville is 4.5.

· The driver leading the most laps has won three of the 10 most recent fall races at Martinsville:
2006: Jimmie Johnson
2003: Jeff Gordon
2001: Ricky Craven

· DID YOU KNOW? FOUR drivers in the 2008 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup have led the most laps in the 10 most recent fall races at Martinsville: Jeff Gordon (2007, 2003), Jimmie Johnson (2006), Tony Stewart (2005) and Jeff Burton (2000).
