The Fifth Race In The Chase Causes Heartburn And Indigestion For All-Star Drivers In The Top 10 TUMS® Moments

Wednesday October 15, 2008

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Oct. 15, 2008) – The latest stop of the 2008 racing season at Lowe’s Motor Speedway for the Bank of America 500 in Charlotte, N.C., had stars and fans of the Sprint Cup Series experiencing heartburn. From disappointing outcomes to disappointment over not getting a start in the race, everyone from fans to big-name drivers experienced more than a few TUMSâ moments in Charlotte. Each weekend PRN lead anchor Doug Rice picks the Top 10 TUMS Moments from the weekend’s racing activities.

This week’s Top 10 TUMS honors go to:

10. Kasey Kahne came up one spot short in his bid to be the only driver to win all three Cup races in one year at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Not a bad day for the Budweiser Dodge.

9. Jeff Gordon had a strong run at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, but has to settle for eighth– still winless in 2008 with just five races left in the season.

8. Matt Kenseth got swept up in a multi-car wreck during lap 194. Kenseth is another past champion that doesn’t have a victory in 2008 and whose chances for a title are running out.

7. AJ Allmendinger failed to take advantage of his chance to drive the double zero for Michael Waltrip Racing as he finished in last place at the Bank of America 500.

6. Tony Stewart had a strong run in the Home Depot Toyota but got popped for speeding on pit road and never came back into contention for the win.

5. Rain on Thursday night spoiled Sprint Cup debuts for Bred Keslowksi i, Scott Speed and Bryan Clauson.

4. Once again tire problems sidelined Dale Earnhardt Jr, putting him in the garage and ruining his chances of battling for the title.

3. Where is a video camera when you need one! Kevin Harvick and Carl Edwards got into a shoving match in the Nationwide Series garage, but there was no video evidence to be found.

2. After just five races into the Chase, there appear to be only three contenders remaining: Jimmie Johnson, Greg Biffle and Jeff Burton.

1. Carl Edwards arrived in Charlotte in second place in points and exited fourth, trailing Jimmie Johnson by 168 points. If Edwards wants that title, he won’t appear on the TUMS Top-10 list again this year.

Stay tuned each week for the Top 10 TUMS Moments to see which drivers and teams are most in need of TUMS fast relief. For more information on TUMS Racing, visit www.TUMSracing.com.
