Daytona Beach, Fla. (July 1, 2009) – Juan Pablo Montoya, driver of the No. 42 Target Chevrolet for Earnhardt Ganassi Racing, and wife Connie Montoya are scheduled to appear at the DUB Tour display on the Daytona International Speedway Midway at 4:00 pm ET on Saturday, July 4, 2009. The Montoya’s will be on-hand for a special Q&A session with 102 JAMZ FM personality and mid-day host Ronda Jordan, and to accept a donation on behalf of their charity, Formula Smiles.
“On behalf of more than 5,000 children part of Formula Smiles, we want to thank Daytona International Speedway for their generous donation. They have been a supporter of our foundation since we first started racing here. Formula Smiles, through sports and recreation, complements the academic education of thousands of Colombian children permitting them to have a more integral education, a healthier lifestyle and a brighter future away from drugs and violence. Connie and I are fully committed to our foundation and to the children who are part of it. This is a way to help our country and thank them for all the support they have given me during my career.”
Formula Smiles is a nonprofit organization incorporated in the United States, under status 501c3, by Colombian racecar driver Juan Pablo Montoya and his wife Connie Freydell, which aims to improve, through sports, the quality of life of Colombian children in vulnerable situations.
The Foundation focuses all of its efforts in sports, with the purpose of complementing the basic education these children are entitled to, in order to provide them with a well rounded upbringing and a more promising future. Through sports, children reinforce their classroom lessons; learn essential values that make them better persons, receive motivation to continue in school and learn how to make good use of their free time, staying off the streets where they find drugs and violence.

Do you want the chance to win a free Frontstretch T-Shirt, and are you really good at talking about NASCAR? Well, we have the perfect opportunity for you. Our staff will be giving away a free T-Shirt to the reader who makes the best post in our Frontstretch Forum between now and the end of the season. So, what makes a good post? It’s pretty hard to impress us, but here are some things we are looking for:
Does your post spark passionate reactions from other readers? Are you commenting on meaningful NASCAR-related events? Do your posts have substance? In other words, “Dale Jr. is the best driver ever” or “Danica Patrick is hot” will not cut it.
So go to the Frontstretch Forums, post early, post often, and post well! We’ll announce the winner following the final race of the season at Homestead.
