Gilliland Seeking Fourth Consecutive Top-25 at Martinsville

Thursday October 25, 2012

STATESVILLE, N.C. (10/24/12) -- David Gilliland is seeking his fifth consecutive top-25 finish this weekend as he takes the No. 38 Long John Silver's Ford to Martinsville, Va. for the running of Sunday's Tums Fast Relief 500.

In the month of October, Gilliland has earned an average finish of 20.3.  His career best finish at Martinsville Speedway is 19th.  On ½ mile tracks this season, Gilliland has averaged a result of 24.6, making the possibility of extending his current streak of top-25's a very realistic goal.

Sunday's race will mark the fifth appearance of the season for Long John Silver's on Gilliland's No. 38 car.  Coverage begins at 1:00 p.m. ET on ESPN.

David Gilliland on Martinsville:

"We have a lot of reasons to be optimistic about our chances this weekend.  We've had some strong runs on short tracks this season and seem to have found some momentum as of late.  It's great to have Long John Silver's back on the car this weekend.  We debuted a new paint scheme for them last week. The car almost looks as good as their new onion rings taste."
