Ultimate Fan Experience with 2006 NASCAR Champion Jimmie Johnson on Ebay®

Friday February 9, 2007

Once in a lifetime opportunity to experience a day in the life of a champion

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (February 9, 2007) - The Jimmie Johnson Foundation will kick off the start of the 2007 NASCAR® Nextel Cup ® season by offering two ultimate fan experiences on eBay. The #1 Fan Championship Tour allows two fans the opportunity to have lunch with current Nextel Cup Champion Jimmie Johnson at Hendrick Motorsports in Charlotte, NC. The lucky winners will also have the chance to take pictures with Johnson and his collection of 2006 trophies including the Daytona 500 ® trophy, the Allstate 400 Brickyard ® trophy and the Nextel Cup ®. The package features a commemorative bottle of Daytona 500 ® champagne from the 2006 victory lane celebration, a behind the scenes tour of the 24/48 race shop, and a championship gift pack including a program from the Homestead-Miami Speedway, and a championship jacket, hat, and collectable race brick. All of the items in the gift pack have been autographed by Johnson.

The foundation is also offering the opportunity for two people to join Johnson and his fans at an exclusive Jimmie Johnson Fan Club event in San Diego, California on February 22, 2007. Complete details for these experiences will be available on eBay at www.ebay.com/jimmiejohnsonfoundation. The auction begins at 9pm EST today. The foundation will be listing one-of-a-kind memorabilia from Johnson's 2006 championship win during the promotion.

"I am in awe of the power of eBay," said Johnson, driver of the #48 Lowe's Chevrolet and co-founder of the Jimmie Johnson Foundation. "Since our online charity auction site was launched a year ago, we have sold 900 items and raised more than $100,000 for the foundation. I really enjoy collecting one-of-a-kind items that I think fans will want to bid on. I am always on the lookout at the racetrack, during production days, when Chandra and I are traveling, or wherever I might be. Once the items are posted, it is fun to watch the bidding begin."

The foundation is working with eBay Giving Works this year and plans to expand their charity program with eBay. The foundation has created the #1 Fan Experience, which will include unique opportunities for fans that will be posted on the site on the first day of each month of the season. The foundation will also promote community selling, which allows fans and supporters of the foundation to raise money on behalf of the foundation through eBay Giving Works.

Do you want the chance to win a free Frontstretch T-Shirt, and are you really good at talking about NASCAR? Well, we have the perfect opportunity for you. Our staff will be giving away a free T-Shirt to the reader who makes the best post in our Frontstretch Forum between now and the end of the season. So, what makes a good post? It’s pretty hard to impress us, but here are some things we are looking for:

Does your post spark passionate reactions from other readers? Are you commenting on meaningful NASCAR-related events? Do your posts have substance? In other words, “Dale Jr. is the best driver ever” or “Danica Patrick is hot” will not cut it.

So go to the Frontstretch Forums, post early, post often, and post well! We’ll announce the winner following the final race of the season at Homestead.
