Checkered Flag Performance and Meyer Motorsports Equipment to Provide Bonuses for Drivers

ATHENS, GA (May 13, 2008) – The RC Cola / MoonPie ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour announced today that it has teamed up with two industry leaders in racing and safety equipment, Checkered Flag Performance of Hoschton, Georgia, and Meyer Motorsports Equipment of Middleburg Heights, Ohio.

Both companies will provide gift certificates, discounts and other bonuses to ASA SAT drivers for the remainder of the 2008 racing season.

“We are honored to have two of the most respected names in the racing industry team up with the ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour,” said Stan Narrison, Promotions Director of ASA Southeast. “Checkered Flag Performance and Meyer Motorsports Equipment are well known in the short-track racing circles for their dedication to the sport and their support of the racers, so we’re extremely proud to have their support for the tour and its drivers.”

Checkered Flag Performance is teaming up with the RC Cola / MoonPie ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour by offering contingency awards for multiple drivers. Each race, Checkered Flag Performance will give a $100 gift certificate to the drivers who finish in sixth and 16th place. Also, at the end of the season, a $1000 certificate will be awarded to a driver at the banquet by a random draw.

“It’s important for us to support the ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour so the drivers will have another avenue to get their parts,” said Jeff Guthrie of Checkered Flag Performance. “If you are not winning races, you can spend your entire budget pretty quick. At the same time, if you are getting a gift certificate for finishing sixth or 16th, it will help you for the next race. Whether you tear up a 50-cent part or a $100 part, it helps teams keep their cars on the track and it keeps their program alive.”

ASA SAT has also joined forces with safety equipment distributor, Meyer Motorsports Equipment. The partnership will provide a discount for safety equipment such as head and neck restraints for registered ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour drivers.

“Safety is the most import thing,” said Jon Meyer of Meyer Motorsports Equipment. “We’re proud to offer discounts for the head and neck restraints along with and installation of the d-ring kits on new helmets. This allows us to know if the drivers are using the safety equipment correctly and if not, we can help them accomplish that. Safety is very important, and our goal is to make sure that these products are used properly from the seat to the helmet to the fire protective gloves.”
