Early Wreck at Mansfield Ends Danny Jackson's Night

Thursday June 26, 2008

Salem Speedway up next on Jackson’s radar

Cincinnati, OH (June 26, 2008) – Danny Jackson heads to the track in
which he saw much success last year in the Hooters Pro Cup Series.
Salem Speedway in Indiana is next up for Jackson on Saturday, June 28. Jackson returns to Salem coming off of a 27th place finish at
Mansfield Motorsports Park in Ohio.

Jackson started the Greased Lightning 250 in 17th and made his way up
to third place. Jackson decided to stay out as long as possible while
most everyone else pitted early in the race. As that put Jackson into
the top ten for much of the race, but on lap 72, Jackson and Derrick
Kelley got together in turn 3. Jackson’s car suffered race-ending
damage and was parked for the night.

‘It was not something I could have avoided. Someone was trying to
make a pass on Kelley and turned him into me. My car was not handling
quite as I would have liked, but we gambled staying out as long as we
did instead of coming in to make adjustments. With the sun going down
on the track, we thought it would help the car. Unfortunately, I was
unable to get a chance to see what the car might have been like,’
Jackson said after the race.

Jackson goes to Salem with a lot of confidence. ‘I like Salem and I
know the track really well racing late models and the ARCA truck
series here.’ Jackson finished 5th in last year’s Hooters Pro Cup
event at Salem. ‘It was one of my better performances and anytime you
can leave Salem with your car in good shape and a top five, there is
something to be said,’ Jackson explained.

Jackson will also be showing his Redbank Transport/Lykins
Companies/Greasesd Lightning Monte Carlo at Eddie Gilstrap Motors in
Salem, IN on Friday, June 27 from 4-6 p.m. Jackson will be on hand to
sign autographs and take pictures with fans.

Danny Jackson is still looking for sponsors for the 2008 and 2009
seasons. For more information on Danny Jackson, please go to
