Wednesday Night Test & Tune Postponed Due to Rain To Thursday, July 24 at SSP

Newberrytown, PA (July 23, 2008) The Wednesday Night Test & Tune session at the Susquehanna Speedway Park originally scheduled for Wednesday night, July 23 has been postponed due to rain until Thursday night, July 24 with the same time schedule.

The test & tune sessions are open to any type of racecars capable of competing on the 4/10 mile oval. The cost is $12.00 per person for pit passes and a $20.00 fee for each racecar entering the pit area ($32.00 per car & driver combination). Gates will open at 5:00 p.m. with open track time from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. by class. The fuel pumps fro Miller’s Racing Parts will be open from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Each session will be 6 – 8 laps per session. The grandstands are open free to the public. The main concession stand will also be open throughout the night. Each class will receive 4 to 5 rounds of 6/8 laps each or more if time permits.

Christmas in July and Member 1st FCU Night at the Races at SSP on Saturday
Newberrytown, PA (July 23, 2008) Stock Car Saturday Night returns to the Susquehanna Speedway Park on July 26 with Christmas in July and the Members 1st Federal Credit Union Night at the Races. There will also be a money scramble presented by the Members 1st FCU in which all kid’s 10 and under will also have the opportunity to scramble for money on the frontstretch and one boy and one girl who find the “special coin” will win a Special Castrol Motor Oil Pedal Car. Santa Claus will visit as well to meet all of the kids in attendance and to conduct the money scramble to ensure that all children are “nice.” Racing that night will feature the Late Models, Street Stocks, Xtreme Stocks, Classic Cars, Mini Vans and Women on Wheels Stock Cars.

On Saturday night, the pit gates will open 4:30 p.m. Grandstand gates will open at 5:00 p.m. Qualifying races begin at 7:00 p.m. followed by consolation races and feature events.

General Admission Grandstand ticket prices are: Adults (ages 18-59) $12.00; Young Adults (ages 11-17) & Senior Adults (60 & Older) $10.00; Children (10 & under) are free. Pit pass prices on Saturday night are $22.00 with a reduced price of $20.00 for all pit competitor license holders. The minimum age requirement to purchase a pit pass is 14 years of age with a copy of a birth certificate is required for all ages 14 to 17.

A special $2.00 repeat fan discount for each person with a ticket stub from last Saturday nights races will be in place for this Saturday’s events. Returning fans are encouraged to write their name, address and phone number on the back of the stub to be entered into special drawings during and at the end of the season for great prizes. The Repeat Fan Discount is not valid for pit pass purchases.

Racing action last Saturday night, July 19 found Dover’s Charles Potts winning his first Late Model main event of the season. Middletown’s Eric Walker won his third Street Stock feature of the season. Donnie Broderick of Lancaster won the Xtreme Stock feature as his father Ray Broderick also from Lancaster won the make-up Xtreme Stock Car feature postponed from June 7. Annville’s Ronnie Buck collected his third Four Cylinder feature event win of the season. Danville’s Bob Campbell won the PENNMAR Vintage Car thriller.
