Chub Frank’s Sponsor Lester Buildings Plans Prize-Filled Contest For Fans At This Weekend’s Oil Region Labor Day Classic At Pennsylvania’s Tri-City Speedway

Sunday August 24, 2008

BEAR LAKE, PA – Chub Frank’s primary sponsor will make some fans very happy during this weekend’s World of Outlaws Late Model Series ‘Oil Region Labor Day Classic’ at Tri-City Speedway in Franklin, Pa.

Lester Buildings, which has backed Frank for several years, will continue its special prize-filled promotion honoring the popular driver known as ‘Chubzilla’ by paying a visit to Tri-City Speedway. The half-mile oval located just over an hour’s drive from Frank’s shop in Bear Lake, Pa., is scheduled to host complete WoO LMS programs topped by 50-lap, $10,000-to-win A-Mains on both Saturday (Aug. 30) and Sunday (Aug. 31).

Fans will have an opportunity to stop by the Lester Buildings display in Tri-City Speedway’s spectator area on both Saturday and Sunday to20meet Frank, check out his Lester Buildings Rocket No. 1* dirt Late Model, obtain free ‘Chubzilla’/Lester posters, inquire about special discounts on Lester Buildings orders and enter free drawings to win valuable prizes, including BP gas cards and Chub Frank Racing items.

Frank will make himself available at the Lester Buildings display to meet fans and sign autographs prior to the start of each night’s racing action. He will also pick the names of 16 contest winners during Sunday night’s draw for A-Main starting spots, which will be held on the track’s homestretch after the heat races.

Three ‘Grand Prizes’ – BP gas cards worth $500, $250 and $100 – will be awarded to fans by Lester Buildings representatives. Three second-prize winners will receive 1/24th-scale diecasts models of Frank’s familiar No. 1* dirt Late Model, and 10 third-prize winners will receive Chub Frank Racing caps.

Fans can enter the gas-card contest on both Saturday and Sunday, with the drawing of winning names set for Sunday night.

“We’re looking forward to another great Lester Buildings promotion at Tri-City Speedway,” said Frank, whose past success at the track makes him one of the favorites in the weekend’s doubleheader. “The first two Lester contests at Boone County Raceway in Nebraska (on July 21) and Eriez Speedway (in Hammett, Pa., on July 27) were big successes, so we’re expecting a bunch of fans to stop by the Lester Buildings display again this weekend.”

Lester Buildings will continue its special Chub Frank promotion at two more events this season – the World 100 on Sept. 5-6 at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio, and the Vault Outlaws World Finals on Oct. 30-Nov. 1 at The Dirt Track @ Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C.

Frank enters this weekend’s meet at Tri-City coming off three lackluster outings on the WoO LMS. He began the swing with a solid fifth-place finish on Wednesday night (Aug. 20) in the 60-lap opening half of the ‘Scorcher’ presented by Alltel Wireless at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap, Tenn., but he followed that run up with an 11th-place finish in Thursday night’s 60-lap ‘Scorcher’ finale and a 13th-place finish in Saturday night’s 50-lap A-Main at K-C Raceway in Alma, Ohio.

“I’m not happy with how we ran,” said Frank, who sits fifth in the WoO LMS points standings (246 points behind leader Darrell Lanigan). “It was nice to get a top-five at Bulls Gap, but that was just circumstances more than anything – we qualified good (10th-fastest in time trials and second in a heat) and started up front (third), so we ended up with a good finish.

“The other two nights we didn’t qualify well and that put us behind for the rest of the deal. The tracks we were on were tough to pass on, so when we didn’t qualify up front we didn’t get a good finish.”

In hopes of turning around his recent frustrating performances, Frank plans to bring out his favorite Lester Buildings/Corry Rubber/All Star Performance/Corry Laser/Slavic C orporation/Farr MotorSports/Lake Shore Paving/Custom Race Engines Chevrolet Impala SS Rocket Chassis No. 1* this weekend – a two-year-old car he calls ‘Old Faithful.’ He debuted the machine at Tri-City’s Oil Region Labor Day Classic in 2006 and promptly won one of the weekend’s A-Mains.

Before pulling into Tri-City Speedway on Saturday, Frank will begin his weekend of WoO LMS action on Friday night (Aug. 29) at Bedford (Pa.) Speedway. He won last year’s tour event at the half-mile oval.
