Racing at SSP "Outback Track" on Saturday, September 6 Cancelled
Saturday September 6, 2008
Next Event on Saturday Night Sept. 20; Friday Night Racing in 2009
Newberrytown, PA (September 6, 2008) The final race of the season for the SSP Outback Track on Saturday, September 6 has been cancelled due to Tropical Storm Hannah. This will conclude the events for the inaugural summer season.
There are no more race events scheduled for the Outback Track at this time because of more construction which will occur over the next few weeks and conflicts on the weekends with events at the “Big Track.” There will be a new lighting system put in place for night racing.
The go karts and quarter midgets next event will be a part of Smashfest ’08 on Saturday, September 20. Participants will compete on the front straightaway of the “Big Track.” The event will begin at 7:00 p.m. More information will be released next week about the Smashfest event.
With the addition of the new lights to the Outback Track, quarter midget and go kart racing will be scheduled for Friday nights beginning in April of 2009.
The Susquehanna Speedway Park is located off I-83 to exit 32, then 1.4 miles NW on SR382 to York Road, then 1.3 miles south. For more information, contact the speedway offices at (717) 292-1696 or visit online at sspracing.net. On raceday, use the track phone at (717) 938-9170 for up-to-date information at the “Big Track” and (717) 932-1608 for the “Outback Track.”
