Montgomery, Alabama, Native Looking To Place New Sponsor In Victory Lane at Five Flags Speedway

CONCORD, NC (December 2, 2008) – The Snowball Derby Super Late Model event at Five Flags Speedway (FL) is considered by many as the Super Bowl of Short Track Racing. Drivers from across the country line up big sponsors to showcase both their talent behind the wheel and promote those who support their racing efforts.

17-year-old Hunter Robbins is one of those drivers. The former Snowflake 100 winner will not only try to win the 41st Annual Snowball Derby, but also take his new sponsor, the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino of Biloxi, Mississippi, to victory lane.

All season long, Robbins has driven a multi-colored #6 machine in the Pro Cup Series and Super Late Model competition, but this weekend, he will go “Back in Black” with the new colors of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on his car.

“We have a cool new sponsor for this race,” said Robbins. “The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino is a great place to go for entertainment, music and even some relaxation. I am real proud to have them aboard, and hopefully we can put on a good show for them. If we end up in victory lane, that will be a good debut for them with us as a sponsor.”

From dining to gaming, nightlife and entertainment, the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino has it all, but the main thing Robbins enjoys the most about his new sponsor is that it fits the young racer well.

“I am a big rock and roll fan myself,” explained Robbins. “It is pretty much all I listen to, so it is cool. We are hoping some bigger and better things come out of this partnership.”

The 41st Annual Snowball Derby Weekend will kick off Wednesday, December 3rd, where fans can meet their favorite drivers and enjoy live music, food, beverages and more entertainment for the whole family. On-track action will kick off on Thursday, December 4th, with practice, time trials and more the following days leading up to the 41st Annual Snowball Derby Super Late Model event, which will take place on Sunday, December 7th.
