Seven Great Years for the ASALMS and Howe Racing

Sunday February 15, 2009

Lexington, Michigan (02/14/2009): The ASA Late Model Series Presented by
GM Performance Parts is proud to announce that one of the most well known
and respected names in motorsports is back once again.

Howe Racing Enterprises is one of the most recognizable chassis builders
in the United States and one of the few sponsors that have been a part of
the ASALMS since the days of the USPRO Cup Series in 2003.

For the 2009 racing season, Howe Racing Enterprises, based in Beaverton,
Michigan will once again return to the ASALMS as a partner in the
Participating Manufacturers Program (PMP) within the three divisions of
the ASALMS.

“When I think back to those days in the USPRO Cup Series when we first
started this whole thing and one of the first supporters to jump on board;
I think of Chas Howe and everyone at Howe Racing Enterprises.” Stated
ASALMS Founder/President, Ron Varney.

“Howe has been on board since the very beginning and just the name itself
speaks volumes when it comes to short track racing in the United States.”
Varney continued. “Howe is a name everyone in auto racing automatically
knows and we’re honored to have them back on board for the 2009 season.”
Varney added.

“We are also pleased to announce that Howe Racing Enterprises will be the
exclusive header manufacturer for the new LS3 engine. Chas has been very
helpful in the development and rollout of these headers and I know the
racers will be extremely happy with the fit and function as well,” stated
Ron Varney.

Founded in 1971 by the legendary short track star, Ed Howe and his wife
Joan, Howe Racing Enterprises is currently co-owned and operated by their
son, Chas Howe. Howe Racing Enterprises is continually adapting and
developing products to meet the needs of today’s racers.

Howe Racing Enterprises President Chas Howe commented; “I don’t believe
that anything else in the past few years has done more to help unify
asphalt late model rules in the eastern half of the United States than the
ASALMS.

“The ASA Late Model Series gives young and local racers a place to test
themselves nationally in the same car that can be raced and sold in many
other places outside of the series. I think that there are too many places
that have rules that require a car or engine that are unique to a specific
track or region.” He continued.

“It’s a natural for us to support an organization that is helping to
perpetuate a class of race cars that we have built for 38 years that would
otherwise be diminished or fragmented.” Howe ended.

Every Howe product is engineered with careful consideration of safety,
performance, cost and current rules. This persistent approach has
established Howe Racing Enterprises in leadership position in the design
and fabrication of high quality chassis and components for many forms of
motorsports.

Howe’s operation includes facilities for steel and aluminum fabrication,
CNC machining and a well organized and stocked warehouse. Howe also has
the unique distinction of having a 1/6 mile test track located behind the
main facility. The test track provides Howe with a unique and controlled
environment to tune basic handling characteristics and test new concepts.
Howe Racing Enterprises boasts a 45,000 square foot headquarters which
includes a well organized and stocked warehouse facility, which is located
at 3195 Lyle Road in Beaverton, Michigan 48612 and is approximately 45
minutes Northeast of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan and about 45 minutes Northwest
of Midland, Michigan.
