Danny Jackson Racing Update 5.22.09
Saturday May 23, 2009
May 21, 2009 (Cincinnati, OH) ? Danny Jackson made his return to the
ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series on Saturday, May 16. For the first
85 laps, Jackson looked like he was going to have a successful return.
Then with 15 laps to go, the rear end in the Chevrolet S-10 gave
out. Jackson finished 15th in the K-100 at Toledo Speedway in Ohio.
Jackson is no stranger to the truck series. He was the 2005 ARCA LWTS
Rookie of the Year and plans to run the full schedule this year.
Jackson has won three truck races in his career: 2005 at Tyler?s
County Speedway in West Virginia and in 2006 at Kentucky Speedway and
Winchester Speedway. Jackson?s #19 Chevrolet is sponsored by R & B
Fabrication (Oakwood, OH), Harts Machine Service (Cecil, OH), Bagman
Chassis, Redbank Transport (Milford, OH), and Lykins Companies
(Cincinnati, OH).
?Things looked really good for us. Qualifying was rained out, but we
started in the 3rd position due to owner?s points from last year.
It?s unfortunate, but that is how it works sometimes. We?ll be ready
for the next race at Flat Rock next weekend.? Jackson will travel to
Flat Rock Speedway for a 100 lap event over Memorial Day weekend. The
race is on Saturday, May 23 at 7 p.m.
?I am excited to return to ARCA and the truck series. It will be a
fun year for us. I want to thank Doug Miller and Dan Eakins for this
opportunity. I plan on running a full schedule along with a few CRA
Super Late Model races as well this summer,? Jackson explained.
Jackson followed up the truck race with the CRA Super Series Manning
Service 100 at Winchester Speedway in Indiana on Sunday, May 17. The
Winchester race was Jackson?s debut to the series in 2009. Jackson
qualified 19th, but after making some changes to the car, had to start
in the back of the 24 car field. On lap 5, Jackson could not avoid a
pile up in front of him in turns one and two and was finished for the
day.
?It was a very disappointing weekend for me. The car felt great and I
love this track. But we will get things back in order. I am not
sure how many CRA races I will be running, but plan to be back in the
near future,? Jackson said.
