Fairgrounds Speedway Race Results 5-23-09

Late Model Full Throttle 200 presented by Nossi College of Art **Michael House’s qualifying time was disallowed after officials discovered that his car had illegal tires during qualifying. He will start at the tail of the field.
Chevy White jumps to an early lead at the start of the race.
Lap 18- Daniel Pope passes White for the lead. Tommy Joe Martins and Sterling Marlin follow Pope as White slides back to 4th.
Lap 32- White has fallen off the pace and has been lapped by Pope.
Caution, Lap 39- Chuck Tuck spins on the frontstretch. No other cars are involved. Pope leads Martins, Marlin, Joseph Meyer, and Dakota Stroup.
On the restart, Dakota Stroup falls off the pace. Daniel Bolden moves into 5th place.
After 70 laps, Pope leads, followed by Martins, Mark Day, Sterling Marlin and Steadman Marlin.
Caution, Lap 73- Martins and Day make contact battling for 2nd. Martins makes hard contact with the frontstretch wall and is being towed to the pits.
Caution, Lap 87- Paul Connely gets loose and crashes in turn 2. No other cars are involved.
Caution, Lap 95- Joseph Meyer and Dean McIntyre crash on the restart. The race has been red flagged.
Lap 100- Day passes Pope for the lead and collects the prize money for winning the first segment. Pope, Sterling Marlin, Steadman Marlin, and Andy Johnson round out the top 5.
An inversion of 6 was drawn for the second segment, putting Daniel Bolden in the lead, followed by Johnson, Steadman Marlin, Sterling Marlin, Pope and Day.
Lap 106, Sterling Marlin passes Bolden for the lead.
Lap 110, Mark Day passes Marlin for the lead.
Caution, Lap 132- A slight mist has brought out the caution.
Lap 144, A yellow-green has come out, meaning that passing is not allowed, but the cars are running laps at an increased pace.
Lap 150- Day wins the second segment followed by Sterling Marlin, Pope, Bolden, and Johnson.
An inversion of 6 was drawn for the third segment. Steadman Marlin will start first, followed by Johnson, Bolden, Pope, Sterling Marlin, and Day.
Johnson passes Marlin on the restart for the lead. Pope then passed Johnson. Johnson and Day crashed in turn 1 on collecting the entire field with the exception of Pope. During the caution, Day hit Johnson’s on the backstretch. Johnson then hit Day on pit road. A massive brawl ensued. The only cars still running are Pope, Jimmy Victory, TW Fisher, and Bolden.
The race has been shortened, and will run to lap 165.
Pope goes uncontested for the win.

Sportsman:
Michael House pulls out to the lead after battling Jeff Belt through turns 1 and 2 on the opening lap.
House holds off spirited charges from Belt and Lee Goddard to win the lightning fast, caution-free Sportsman feature.

Supertrucks:
Caution, Lap 1- Blake Carter spins Stacey Crain going into turn 1. The race will be completely restarted.
Blake Williams jumps to an early lead.
Caution, Lap 14- Jason Adams gets loose and crashes hard on the frontstretch.
Due to Adams’ incident, the red flag has been displayed.
Blake Williams holds off hard charges from Clint Crowell and Bobby Buttrey to capture his first career victory.
Caution, Lap 80- Joseph Meyer loses out in a 3 wide battle and hits the wall in turn 4. His crew is evaluating the damage.

Super Stocks:
Robert Forsythe muscles his way past Clint Ivey to take the lead on the opening lap.
Caution, Lap 23- The leader, Forsythe, spins by himself in turn 2.
Charles Goddard wins pulling away.

3. Cory Jones
4. Clint Ivey
5. Robert Forsythe
Thunderstox:
Mitchell Vickers grabs the lead from Art Choate at the end of lap 1.
Caution, Lap 19- Stephanie Barnes spins by herself in turn 4.
Caution, Lap 22- Travis Ryman spins by himself in turn 4.
Mitchell Vickers wins while Charles Goddard prevails in a 3-wide photo finish for 2nd.
Final Results:

Legends Pro/ Masters
Caution, Lap 1- Kenny Summers and Kevin Riggs crash on the frontstretch going into turn 1. Both cars are too heavily damaged to continue.
Tyler Slayden passes Chris Wilson for the lead coming out of turn 4 on the first lap. Wilson pulls his car off the track.
Lap 6- Josh Berry passes Slayden for the lead.
Berry is able to hold off a charging Tyler Cordell for the victory.

AJ Carlisi leads from the pole
Caution, Lap 6- CJ Tuck breaks a left front wheel and pulls off the track in turn 3.
Caution, Lap 14- Ross Rollings, Tanner Derryberry, and Jake Dunsmore carsh in turn 1. Only Dunsmore is unable to continue.
Carlisi is able to hold off a strong last lap battle from Cody Fernett to capture the victory.
