Seven different Feature Winners kick off the Memorial Day Holiday Weekend at Dixie Motor Speedway

Birch Run, Michigan (Friday, May 22, 2009): It was Kids Bike Night and
Civil Servant Night at the Dixie Motor Speedway in Birch Run, Michigan
as there were seven big features to kick start the Memorial Day
Holiday Weekend in the state of Michigan.

Up first was the Street Stocks 25-lap Make-Up Feature that was rained
out on May 15th. The Make-Up Feature was the first event of the night
on the 1/3 (0.333) mile semi-banked paved oval right after the
National Anthem. Montrose, Michigan veteran, Al Boitel Jr., took the
lead from pole-sitter, Bob Robinson on Lap Seven (7) and it was all
Boitel Jr., from there.

The driver of the Red Wing Shoes Chevrolet held off Curtis Hayden and
Jason Hitsman to score his first Feature Win of the 2009 season.
Hayden settled for second while Jason Hitsman, Chris Stearns, Mike
Vandecar, Maverick Morrow, Ed Newman Jr., Bob Robinson, Rob Sullivan,
and Josh Hahn completed the Top 10.

As for the regularly scheduled racing events of the night, the 30-lap
Pro Late Models Feature rolled out as the first feature of the night
on the 4/10s (0.400) mile progressively banked paved d-shaped oval as
Bridgeport, Michigan veteran, Mark Klein in his Schaefer-Bierlin Dodge
of Frankenmuth Dodge took the lead from Joe Hodgeson Jr., on Lap 16
and led the final 14 laps en route to his first Feature Win of the
2009 racing season.

Marty England came home second while Ken O’Connor was third over
Schaefer-Bierlien Dodge of Frankenmuth Hard-Charger of the Race for
the second time in a row, Mark Welch, who started 20th and finished
Fourth. Joe Hodgeson Jr., completed the Top Five.

Two-Time Owosso Speedway Track Champion, Tony Hoose picked up a sixth
place finish while Two-Time Defending Track Champion, Ed Doutre Jr.,
Opening Night 2009 Feature Winner and Three-Time Track Champion, Chad
Bennett, Lonnie Saumier, and Fast Qualifier, 16-year-old Blake
Childers rounded out the Top 10.

Childers, the 2008 Rookie of the Year, was the fastest of a stellar 20
Pro Late Models in Qualifying as he turned a 16.180 while Rick Osborn
Jr., and Bryan Renner scored heat race wins.

The Modifieds 30-lap Feature was next as 2005 Dixie Motor Speedway
Modifieds Track Champion, Nick Clemens passed outside front row
starter, Rick Wiecorek on Lap 19 and from there, the Mt. Morris,
Michigan stand out in his Fairhaven Auto Parts Chevrolet cruised to
his first Feature Win of the 2009 racing season.

Wiecorek held on for second while Jeff Reamer, Dave Christensen, and
Mike Luberda Sr., were the Top Five. Rod Laney was sixth and was
followed by Two-time Defending Track Champion and Opening Night 2009
Feature Winner, Chuck Silva who was seventh as Gavin Hunyady, Don
Gilbert, and Matt Severn completed the Top 10.

Ken O’Connor, who was pulling double duty in both a Pro Late Model and
Modified, set fast time in the Mods with a 15.946, just 0.042 seconds
off the track record, which is a 15.904 set by Donny Matteson Jr.,
back on July 21, 2006. O’Connor also won his heat while Severn took
the other heat race win.

As for the 25-lap Sportsman Feature, Defending Track Champion, Kevin
Harder drove around early race leader, Joe Cunningham with 10 laps to
go and the Bay City, Michigan driver in his Roach’s Lawn Care
Chevrolet went on to score his first Feature Win of the 2009 racing
season.

Harder had to fight off teammates, Cunningham and New Track Record
Holder, Don Riley to score the hard fought Feature Win. Chet Allen was
fourth and was followed by last week’s Feature Winner, Chris Stearns,
who completed the Top Five. Tony Basalone was sixth as John Forsythe
III, Scott Dann, Gary Shank Jr., and Dennis Roys finished off the Top
10.

Earlier in the day in qualifying, Riley broke the Track Record
previously held by Harder as Riley went a 17.184 in Qualifying,
beating the track record, which was a 17.250, by 0.066 Seconds.
Cunningham and Allen picked up Heat Race Wins.

The final Feature of the night on the 4/10s mile was for the visiting
Great Lakes Super Cup Series as Morgen Baird grabbed the lead from
pole-sitter, Aaron Langlois on Lap Three (3) and the Grass Lake,
Michigan driver held off the advances of Dave Wilson and Dave Harrison
to pick up the Feature Win in the 25-lap Feature.

Wilson finished second as Harrison, Jesse Thatcher, and Todd Wilfong
were the Top Five. Langlois was sixth as Fast Qualifier Trent Jensen,
Scott Swem, Nick Byrne, and Freeman Hotchstetler completed the Top 10.

Jensen established the Great Lakes Super Cup Series Track Record on
the 4/10s mile with a 19.763 in Qualifying over a 15-car field.
hatcher and Baird picked up the Heat Race Wins.

The Great Lakes Super Cup Series returns to Dixie Motor Speedway on
Friday, June 19th as paer of Kids Carnival Night at the races. The
third and final appearance by the Otsego, Michigan based series will
be on Friday, September 4th as they join the Auto Value Super Sprints
on the 4/10s mile.

On the adjoining 1/3 mile, the Street Stocks returned for their second
feature of the night as Defending Street Stocks Track Champion, Ed
Newman Jr., passed pole-sitter, Josh Hahn on Lap 11 of the 25-lap
Feature and the driver of the Zervan Masonry Chevrolet scored his
first Feature Win of the season and first victory since an off-track
accident that left the New Lothrop, Michigan driver in a wheelchair
for the majority of this past winter!

Hahn finished a career high second in his 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle
while Curtis Hayden, Maverick Morrow, and Rob Sullivan were the Top
Five. Michigan Motorsports Hall of Fame driver, Jay Woolworth finished
a strong sixth earning the Schaefer-Bierlin Dodge of Frankenmuth
Hard-Charger award while Fast Qualifier Jason Hitsman, Dewey Romans,
and two rookies, Jake Caverly and Aaron Spearling finished off the Top
10.

Hitsman was the Fast Qualifier for the night with a 16.540 while Bob
Robinson and Newman Jr., scored the Heat Race Wins.

To complete the night, it was Round I of the Sport Stocks Local Series
as Jeremy Snellenberger started on the outside of the front row held
off a late charge from veteran, Darren Bohne and steered his Trans by
Snellenberger Dodge into victory lane to win.

The driver from near-by Bridgeport, Michigan went on to lead all 15
laps from his outside front row starting spot and scored the win in
the Sport Stocks Local Series Round I Feature as Bohne came home in
second place. Andrew Shelton, Tim Cummings, and Fast Qualifier / Heat
Race Winner, 14-year-old Jake Thompson completed the Top Five.

Thompson established the Sport Stocks Track Record with an 18.417
around the 1/3 mile and also won the heat. The Sport Stocks Local
Series Round II is set for Sunday, June 7th.

The next event on the 2009 Dixie Motor Speedway calendar is set for
Friday, May 29th as it’ll be Church Youth Group Night and Michigan
Auto Racing Fan Club (M.A.R.F.C.) Night. There will be a Fastor Pastor
Race and any 2009 member of the M.A.R.F.C. who show their membership
card will get in for FREE!

Highlighting the night will be the Weekly Local Racing Series Bombers
and Figure 8s who will both run Double Features! In addition to their
regularly scheduled events for May 29th, both divisions will make up
their May 15th Features that werelost due to Mother Nature. Bombers
will run Twin 20-lap Features while the exciting Figure 8s will race
Twin 15-lap Features.

Also in attendance and making their first of two appearances during
the 2009 racing season will be the Auto Value / Bumper to Bumper
Michigan Legends Series as they participate in the Michigan Spring
Regionals Day I. The following day, the Michigan Legends Series will
head to Dixie’s sister track to the Southwest, Owosso Speedway for the
Michigan Spring Regionals Day II.

Joining the Michigan Legends, Bombers, and Figure 8s on the adjoining
1/3 (0.333) mile semi-banked paved oval will be theStreet Stocks while
the Pro Late Models, and Modifieds willall take on themain 4/10s
(0.400) mile progressively banked paved oval. Sportsman will have May
29th off.

Every Friday night, the Pit Gates Open at 1:00p.m. Rotating Practice
begins at 3:00p.m. The Grandstand Gates Open at 5:00p.m. Qualifying is
set for 5:30p.m., and Racing will get the green flag at 7:30p.m.

General Admission for May 29th is; Adults – $12.00, Seniors / 60 and
over – $10.00, Students (13-17) – $8.00, Children (6-12) – $5.00 and
Kids Five (5) and Under are absolutely FREE. Pit Passes on regular
race nights are $25.00.
