M.C.R. Dwarf Cars to continue legacy at the Big "O" in 2009 beginning this Saturday, June 13th

Ovid, Michigan (Tuesday, June 9, 2009): The 3/8s (0.375) mile
high-banked paved oval of Owosso Speedway will see the return of a
traveling series that the Speedway has an extensive relationship with,
the Midwest Classic Racers (M.C.R.) Dwarf Car Series.

On Three (3) separate occasions during the 2009 racing season, the
series will visit the Ovid, Michigan speed plant beginning on
Saturday, June 13th. Two more appearances are scheduled for Saturday,
August 15th, and Sunday, September 27th.

Their first appearance of the season on Saturday, June 13th is part of
Ladies Night at the Big “O” as the M.C.R. Dwarf Cars Series will join
the Weekly Local Racing Series divisions of Drive Train Specialists
Pro Late Models, Affordable Tire and Service Center Pro Stocks, and
Fast Track Promotions Sport Stocks.

The Wieland Contracting Modifieds and RacingPartSales.com Pure Stocks
both have the night off.

The Lincoln Park, Michigan based series, featuring 5/8 scale models of
vintage cars from 1928-1948, will make their 28th, 29th and 30th
all-time appearances at the Big “O”

“The M.C.R. Dwarf Cars have had the pleasure of racing at Owosso 27
times, the most of any track in our series history!” Said MCR Dwarf
Cars Series President, Steve Martin, “We’re very excited about our
15th anniversary season and having three shows at this great facility
is something we’re very proud of.” He added.

Their second appearance of the season on Saturday, August 15th will be
on Shiawassee County Fair Night I and College Night. Also on the card
will be the Weekly Local Racing Series divisions of Wieland
Contracting Modifieds, Affordable Tire and Service Center Pro Stocks,
and Fast Track Promotions Sport Stocks.

The M.C.R. Dwarf Cars Series final appearance of the season will also
mark a milestone for the series as it will be the landmark 30th
all-time event for the series at Owosso Speedway!

The historic date will occur on Sunday, September 27th during the
final day of the 14th Annual Owosso Fall Nationals featuring Carnage
Nationals II. Sharing the track will be the School Bus Races, Trailer
Races, Push and Pull Team Races and a 100-lap Front Wheel Drive Enduro.

The M.C.R. Dwarf Cars Series have had an extensive history at Owosso
as Two (2)-time Series Champion, Rob Roney (2003 and 2000) and Craig
Curtis from near-by, DeWitt, Michigan are tied for the most all-time
wins at the Speedway with four (4) apiece.

Former series champions Eric Hoffman (2008 and 2007), Jon Wylie (2005
and 2002), and Chad Goff (2004) as well as the Late Tommy Bowles all
have Three (3) wins while former series champions, Andy Taylor (2001
and 1999) and 1996 Owosso Pro Late Model Track Champion, Tristan
Dupuis (1995) have two (2) wins each.

2006 Series Champion, Junior Gould as well as Roger Balcom, Mike
McManman Sr., and Owosso Pro Stocks competitor in 2009, Dennis Roys
each have one (1) win to their credit.

“The M.C.R. Dwarf Car Series always puts on a great show when they
come to the Big O,” Said Co-Owner / Promoter / Announcer Rick Miracle.
“They always bring a full field and it’s really something to see 20 of
these speedy little open wheeled cars on this wide track. It’s really
good racing with a lot of talented drivers.”

For Saturday, June 13th, the Pit Gates open at “High Noon” 12:00p.m.,
while Rotating Practice starts at 2:00p.m. Qualifying begins at
5:00p.m., and Racing will get underway at 7:00p.m.

General Admission Prices for June 13th are: Adults (17-59): $12.00,
Seniors (60 and over): $10.00, Students (9-17): $8.00, Kids Under 8
are FREE. Pit Passes are always $25.00.
