BRASELTON, Ga. (July 2, 2009) – Officials from the Georgia Asphalt Series and Lanier National Speedway announce today that live broadcasts of Georgia Asphalt Series races will resume beginning with the Friday, July 3, event at Lanier.

“We’re excited to offer our fans that can’t make it to the track each week a way to be part of the action here in the Georgia Asphalt Series,” said Terry Roberts, GM of Lanier National Speedway and the Georgia Asphalt Series. “Live radio and internet race broadcasts have become really popular among fans, and it offers some extra exposure for our drivers and their sponsors. It’s a win-win for everyone, and we look forward to growing this program in the future.”

The Chandler Communications Radio Network will bring fans live, flag-to-flag coverage of GAS races, including a 30-minute pre-race show and post-race interviews and wrap up.

Race broadcasts can be heard online at www.RaceFanRadio.com and on Sports Radio 1240AM The Ticket out of Gainesville, Ga.

Doug Turnbull, a familiar voice to GAS fans, will return with pit road reports while David Chandler will call the action from the press box.

The GAS race broadcasts resume with this Friday’s special Independence Day celebration at Lanier, including North Georgia’s largest fireworks show. The Georgia Asphalt Series returns to the track for the first time since May 30. Fans at Lanier and listening from home can expect a wild show between front-runners TJ Reaid, Chase Elliott and Casey Roderick as they battle for the win at Lanier Speedway.

The show starts with pre-race coverage around 9:00 p.m. (30 minutes before green flag) and continues with live coverage of the 100-lap Pro Late Model event and post-race interviews with the race winner.
