Schedule Changes for Modifieds and Pro Late Models at Dixie Motor Speedway

Wednesday July 8, 2009

By Matt Prieur – Dixie Motor Speedway

Birch Run, Michigan (Wednesday, July 8, 2009): There have been some
small changes to the 2009 Dixie Motor Speedway schedule and they
primarily involve the Wieland Contracting Modifieds as well as the Top
Notch Motorsports Pro Late Models.

First off for the Wieland Contracting Modifieds, the Modifieds Short
Track Series has been scrapped for the remainder of the season! The
next scheduled event for the Short Track Series was to be on Friday,
July 24th, that night will now become a Weekly Local Racing Series
points night for the Wieland Contracting Modifieds!

So on Friday, July 24th during Classic Car Night / Eastern Michigan
Food Drive Night, it’ll be a full show of Top Notch Motorsports Pro
Late Models and Wieland Contracting Modifieds on the 4/10s (0.400)
mile progressively banked d-shaped paved oval while the Speedway
Graphix Street Stocks and RacingPartSales.com Bombers will challenge
the adjoining 1/3 (0.333) mile semi-banked paved oval. The Checkered
Flag Promotions Figure 8s will close out the big show on the inner
Figure 8 track!

Bring Five (5) canned food items with you to the ticket window and
receive $2.00 off your Grandstand Admission in support of the Eastern
Michigan Food Bank. In addition, for the Classic Car portion of the
evening, there will be a parade of Classic Cars, Trucks, and Bikes
around the 4/10s mile at Intermission.

The final Mods Short Track Series event was to be held on Sunday,
August 9th during ServPro EVE OF DESTRUCTION III. That has been
scrapped and added to that show will be a special Pro Late Models
Invitational on the 4/10s mile!

Pro Late Models from Dixie and our sister track to the West, the
Owosso Speedway are invited along-with Super Stocks from Auto City
Speedway and Berlin Raceway, as well as Limited Late Models teams from
Whittemore Speedway.

All Pro Late Models participants will be racing on the Hoosier 970
tires and although technically this event is a “Non-Points” race, all
teams on hand will receive 15 “Show-Up” Points. The Length of the
Feature and Purse for this event is “TO BE DETERMINED” and will be
announced as soon as it becomes finalized.

Also in action that night on the adjoining 1/3 mile will be the
Midwest Classic Racers (M.C.R.) Dwarf Cars Series who’ll be making
there second and final appearance of the season.

Of course the evening will be highlighted by ServPro EVE OF
DESTRUCTION III as there will be School Bus Figure 8s, a Figure 8
Trailer Race, a Chain-Gang Race, a Crash Cars Race, the Flagpole Race,
and Spectator Drags. All will be in action on a busy Sunday afternoon
at Dixie Motor Speedway.

For Sunday shows only, the Pit Gates Open at “High Noon” 12:00p.m. The
Grandstands open and Rotating Practice for the Pro Late Models and
M.C.R. Dwarf Cars will begin at 3:00p.m. Qualifying will start
