MICHIGAN INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY IMPLEMENTS FAN TEXTING SERVICE IN GRANDSTANDS

Friday August 21, 2009

BROOKLYN, Mich. – August 13, 2009 – Michigan International Speedway® (“MIS”) has partnered with InStadiumSolutions (“ISS”) to implement a text-message based communication system at the facility. The service debuted this past June at MIS and will be available to fans again during the “Show Me the Carfax Race  Weekend.”

The text messaging system allows fans to communicate directly with the racetrack’s command post if assistance is needed in dealing with any special needs inside the facility.

“In our continuing efforts to provide thrilling and safe guest experiences, we are extremely pleased to offer this innovative technology at MIS once again this weekend. Having been successful in June, it helps us further demonstrate our focus on providing a safe, enjoyable and unforgettable race experience for our guests,” MIS President Roger Curtis said.  “ISS’ text messaging system allows fans to communicate instantly with our command center and receive immediate assistance at their location.  We are glad to work with ISS on this important customer service initiative for all our guests.”

“InStadiumSolutions is thrilled to partner with MIS and give their fans the ability to report, within seconds, unruly fans, medical emergencies and any other track issues directly to the venue’s command center.  We know MIS is always looking to improve the guest experience and our Fan Text Messaging System will help do just that,” said ISS’ Vice President of Sales and Marketing Scott Meyers.

Texting instructions will be placed prominently throughout the facility via static signage and will be regularly broadcast through audio and video public announcements.
