Wimmer Tallies Top-Five in Tour Finale

Finishes Third in ASAMT Points

Chris Wimmer wrapped up his 2009 ASA Midwest Tour with yet another top-five finish, this time at La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway. “I actually didn’t run very well at La Crosse the last two years,” says Wimmer, “I really wanted to do better this year and to finish in the top-five is awesome.” Wimmer qualified 5
On the last lap of the 100-lap feature, a car in front of him had problems, giving Wimmer a chance to go around and pick up another spot. He crossed the finish line fourth. “My car was pretty good for the race,” says Wimmer, “All the guys in front of me like Steve Calrson, Steve Holzhausen, and Travis Sauter have so many laps here I wasn’t sure if I’d have anything for them,” says Wimmer, “They’re tough on this track and to come home with a 4
Wimmer ends the 2009 ASAMT season with four top-three finishes, including a win at Iowa Speedway. “I don’t think I had one podium finish, let alone a win, on the Tour last year,” says Wimmer, “So, I’m pretty proud of that. Anytime you can run up front and win or finish in the top three is pretty special and that fact that I was able to do it four times means a lot.” The #52 Chevy tallied a total of six top-five finishes and eight top-tens on the Tour, combine his 2009 success, and Wimmer finds himself third in ASAMT points. “I finished 4
