Ross Zumbach Motorsports Press Release - Friday, October 16, 2009
Monday October 19, 2009
Racine, Minnesota (Friday, October 16, 2009): Ross Zumbach can look
back on his 2009 racing season and know he learned more in one season
than most drivers have learned in a career! The 19-year-old Racine,
Minnesota native made select appearances within the ASA Late Model
Series as well as worked under the tutelage of esteemed Crew Chief,
Rich Lushes as well as Port City Race Cars Owner, Harley Boeve.
Zumbach's last appearance on the track was at the Iowa Speedway in
Newton, Iowa on September 19th for the ASALMS Challenge Division's
Pork 100. He finished 12th and was definitely satisfied with the run
against the stout field of drivers on hand. Now his focus is squarely
on the 2010 racing season.
"We had a great weekend at Iowa and now working hard to secure
sponsorship for the 2010 season. The sponsorship bug has been tough
to deal with this year but it has been an exciting summer with the
opportunity to debut in the ASALMS." The Gopher State driver said. "I
now have something to build off of and will have great memories from
LaCrosse and the Iowa Speedway."
"(Crew Chief) Rich Lushes brought a great car from Port City Race Cars
and it was great to work with him again," He continued. "Each day Rich
and I work together we get better. Rich has done a great job this
summer and has given me a run to the front each time. I learned a lot
about the car again at Iowa."
He then continued; "I'm recognizing more finite changes that can be
made and how the car reacts with those changes. I can't say enough
about the help that I received from Josh Hamner, Brian Campbell, and
Brent Downey at Iowa. We had the opportunity to share ideas about our
cars and the track plus they made me feel relaxed and welcome to the
garage area."
As the 2009 racing season comes to a close, Zumbach realizes he's been
in a very fortunate situation teaming up with Port City Race Cars.
"Harley Boeve has been wonderful and I thank him for making all of
this a possibility," Zumbach appreciatively added "I'm excited about
getting back in the seat. I know that Rich and I can be good together
if we get the opportunity."
"I just hope that Ross Zumbach Motorsports can make things happen for
2010. We'll be working hard to get our program together you can be
sure of that." He ended as he and the team have already began the
search for additional marketing partners for the 2010 racing season.
Throughout the 2009 racing season, Zumbach has sported decals from
Port City Race Cars, SATA Dan-Am, House Chevrolet, Dave Geerdes Farms,
Hauge Brothers Farms, State Farm Insurance, Evans Enterprises, and
Ross Zumbach Motorsports.
