Sybesma Graphics is the new sponsor for a familiar IMCA contest that’s taken a social media twist.
Voting in the IMCA Facebook Fan Favorite car contest will determine winners in fendered and non-fendered divisions. Pictures of finalists will be uploaded to the IMCA Facebook page with ‘like’ ballots cast through the first full week of every month through November.
A single winner will be announced for each category, the fendered divisions including Late Models, Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks and Sport Compacts, the non-fendered divisions being Modifieds, Sprint Cars, Northern SportMods and Southern SportMods.
Monthly Modified, Sprint Car, Northern SportMod or Southern SportMod winners receive a mini-mod door. Monthly Late Model, Stock Car, Hobby Stock or Sport Compact winners receive mini-hoods. The driver with the top monthly vote total during the year receives a 2013 competitor’s license, also courtesy of Sybesma Graphics.
“This is a way to get more people involved in the contest and allows them to vote. I like that,” said company owner and IMCA Sunoco Stock Car driver Stefan Sybesma. “More drivers get the recognition they deserve. That’s good for them, it’s good for their sponsors and it should also help get drivers to send required decal placement photos to IMCA quicker.”
Sybesma got his start in the graphics business in 1999, branching out on his own six years later. From the basement and then a bay in the race car shop, Sybesma Graphics has grown into a 5,000 square foot facility with four-full time employees in addition to Sybesma and his wife Ashley.
Approximately 65-70 percent of the vinyl graphics, screen printing, embroidery and sign work they do is racing-related.
“When we started, we did 45 race cars with zero advertising. I never thought we’d get to the point where we did 300-plus cars and 35,000 T-shirts a year,” Sybesma admitted. “We’ve got customers in every state where IMCA has drivers and we can attribute a lot of that to Super Nationals.”
“No matter what we do, we give it 100 percent. We make great products and that’s what people are happy about,” he added. “We let our products speak for themselves.”
More information about those products is available by calling 712 729-7446 and at the www.sybesma-graphics.com website.
Only drivers licensed for the 2012 race season are eligible and all Facebook Fan Favorite entries must be submitted showing a complete side view of the car with required decals in place.
Entries can be emailed to IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder at firstname.lastname@example.org.
“Streaming fans through our Facebook page makes this contest much more interactive this year and hopefully will encourage more drivers to send quality car photos as soon as they are able,” Yoder said. “ We’re pretty excited to partner with Sybesma Graphics on this as well and offer our winners some really unique prizes.”
