Bob's Corner Racing Game

Bob Henry · Wednesday February 8, 2006

Hello everyone, and welcome to Bob’s Corner Racing Game.

First, let me give a little background information on the game. Bob’s Corner Racing Game was started some years ago in a newsletter called Nascar Rocks. When Nascar Rocks folded up, Angie Hall (one of the participants in Nascar Rocks), and myself decided to start our own newsletter called Winston Cup Corner. When Winston left Nascar, the name was then changed to Angie and Bob’s Corner Racing.

At the end of the season last year, I decided to bring my game to another venue, and the fine folks here at Frontstretch were kind enough to allow me to come over here with them. We’re pretty sure it will be a win – win situation for both of us and a great addition to the Frontstretch.

On to the game!
For the second year, Bob’s Corner Racing Game is sponsored by Flamingoworld.com. Twice a season, first at midseason, then at the end of the season, they award the first, second, and third place participants Amazon.com Supercertificates, redeemable through Flamingo World’s Amazon.com store

First Place wins a $75.00 Amazon.com Supercertificate, Second Place a $50.00 Amazon.com Supercertificate, and third Place is a $25.00 Amazon.com Supercertificate.

Here’s all you need to know right now:

Bob’s Racing Corner Game is a points system game and each week there is a race event you earn points even if that race doesn’t pay points.

With most races the points will be earned the same way, however, the Daytona 500, Bud Shootout, and the All-Star race are different.

While you can join at any point in the game, the smart thing would be is to get in the game early and be sure you send in your picks each week to earn as many points as possible.

For this week’s game, there are going to be different ways to earn points for Daytona than for the other races but to avoid confusion, I don’t want to go into all the details today with the rules and how you earn points for the other races. There will be more on this later, once we are past Daytona.

So for this week, first, I need your picks for who you think will be in the top two spots in qualifying that will be held this Sunday at Daytona and second, who you believe will win the Budwiser Shootout.

Pole position earns you 25 points this week, while second in qualifying earns you another 25 points. If you pick the Budwiser Shootout winner, you can earn another 25 points.

So if you get all three right, you earn a whopping 75 points to start out the game.

Rules for this week…..

  • All picks must be sent by 02/10/06. No exceptions, if you send them in late you will be disqualified for the points.
  • All picks must be sent to me at Bobscornerracing@aol.com with “Daytona week 1 picks” in the subject area.

Should you have any questions about the game, don’t hesitate to ask. I am always happy to let you know exactly what you need to know.

By the way, some of my past players liked to get a reminder each week about the game being updated, and to send in their picks. If you would like to be reminded each week that I updated the page and to send in your picks please send an email to Bobscornerracing@aol.com
with “Send me a weekly reminder” in the subject area to let me know.

Again, I thank the fine folks here at Frontstretch for welcoming me on board, and I look forward to hearing from all of you readers and game players.

Finally, SEND YOUR PICKS TODAY SO YOU DON’T FORGET!
