Kyle Benjamin sets quick time in All-American 400 Qualifying

The All-American 400 qualifying took place on Friday evening with 39 cars taking times. After all of the laps were in the book it was Kyle Benjamin who put the fastest lap in the books. The high school student from Liberty, SC laid down a 18.194 second lap for a speed of 125.646 mph. Benjamin is not guaranteed of starting on the pole as the top 10 drivers will redraw for starting position The second fastest driver was Willie Allen who tripped the watch at 18.235 seconds and a speed of 125.363. The third fastest qualifier made the trip up from Talladega and put his No. 51 car in the field with a 18.271 second lap at a speed of 125.116 mph. Ross Kenseth timed into the field fourth quick with a 125.096 mph lap that took 18.274 seconds to complete while Daniel Hemric circumvented the 5/8 mile Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway in 18.314 seconds for a speed of 124.823 mph.

The top 15 drivers locked into the race. The remaining starting spots will be decided through heat races Friday evening and a Last Chance Qualifier on Saturday.
