NDRA Announces Tire Rules for 2013 Season

Thursday January 17, 2013

The National Dirt Racing Association (NDRA) is excited to announce the tire rules for the 2013 racing season.

Both American Racer and Hoosier tires will be allowed to compete in both the City Chevrolet weekly events as well as the Heintz Performance Road Show tour. The compounds that will be allowed are as follows: American Racer BT Spec 48 and 56. Hoosier HTS Spec 1350 and 1600 and the Crate Racin USA Spec 21 and Spec 55. Teams will not be allowed to cut, sipe or groove tires.

“By allowing both brands the racers of the Carolina’s now have the ability to compete where they wish, with a common tire rule.” said NDRA’s Larry Lee. “This announcement should save the teams money which is always priority number one. We apologize for the lengthy delay in announcing this rule but we wanted to make sure all the proper channels were followed in our decision.”

The first event of the 2013 racing season will be the $3,000 to win NDRA Road Show event as part of the 13th Annual Skyler Trull Memorial at Carolina Speedway March 8-9.

NDRA would like to thank the following for their contribution to 2012; City Chevrolet, Heintz Performance, American Racer, Hoosier Racing Tires, GM Performance Parts, Stock Car Steel/SRI, Velocita Race Wear, Dirtwrap, R2C Filters, Racing Electronics, FK Rod Ends, LaJoie of Seating, Performance Tee’s, Rock Automotive, HICG Motorsports Insurance, Big A’s Custom Graphics.
