Billy Thompson Rolls to Carolina Speedway Victory

Billy Thompson rolled to his first Roush Yates Late Model win of 2013 Friday night at Carolina Speedway.

Thompson took the win over Kenny Rominger Jr, David Yandle, Robbie Bailey and Shaun Medlin.

Andy Thompson survived a protest to score the Domino’s Pizza Street Stock win. Ronald Pope came home second with Adam Vandiver third, Mitch Williams fourth and Andy Duncan fifth.

In the Stock Car Steel/SRI Open Wheel Modified main event it was Taylor Cook leading the way. Kyle Strickler, Patrick Lyon, Manuel Johnson and Matt Emmerling completed the top five.

Blake Pryor inherited the Q2U BBQ Pit Four Cylinder win after apparent winner Patrick Lyon was disqualified in post-race inspection. Jerry Oliver, Shannon Barnhill, Dennis Kirk and Chris Norris rounded out the top five.

David Carswell took home the $500 win in the Tilley Harley Davidson Renegade Rumble. Jamie Major took the checkered flag first but failed a protest. Second through fifth went to; John Rhyne, Scott Freeman, Tyler Hyatt and Ronald Pope.

Shannon Barnhill took home the Hornets win. Scott Cloninger, Robert Polacco, Casey Shane and Scott Blanton rounded out the top five.

This Friday night April 6th Carolina Speedway presents a full racing program. Gates open at 5:00 with racing at 8:00 pm. General admission is only $12 and kids 11 and under are free.
