Attica Raceway Park and Wayne County Speedway Announce Super Late Model Challenge Series

Wednesday January 8, 2014

ATTICA – Late model teams in North Central Ohio will have a little more incentive in 2014. Attica Raceway Park and the NAPA Wayne County Speedway are teaming up for an eight race Super Late Model Challenge Series that offers increased purses and a point fund between the two tracks.

Many of the region’s best late model drivers have competed at both tracks over the last couple of seasons. Attica Raceway Park offers late models, 410 sprints, 305 sprints and dirt trucks every Friday night. The NAPA Wayne County Speedway near Orrville, Ohio also offers late model and sprint car racing and is moving to Saturday night racing in 2014.

ARP Promoter John Bores and NAPA Wayne County Speedway Promoters Jason and Kristin Flory have put together an eight race Super Late Model Challenge Series for 2014. Each track will host four races with each paying $1,500 to win and $200 to start with $60 for all non-transfer cars. The eight-race series will also have a point fund as a title sponsor is still being sought. A $10 entry fee for each race will be charged per team to be added to the point fund.

The first night for the Super Late Model Challenge Series will be Friday, May 2 at Attica Raceway Park with the series in action the very next night – Saturday, May 3 – at the NAPA Wayne County Speedway. Attica will host the next two nights of the series on Fridays, June 20 and July 11 with Wayne County resuming the series on Saturdays, July 12 and Aug. 9. The final weekend for the series will be double points at both tracks with Attica running Saturday, Aug. 30 and the final point race at Wayne County on Sunday, Aug. 31.

A tire rule will be in effect for both tracks with American Racers 44 or harder and Hoosier 1300, LM 20 or harder being allowed. Each track will run their regular rules and race procedures.
