Mike Lovecchio

Contact Mike

At 20 years of age, Mike Lovecchio is the youngest of the writers at The Frontstretch. Born and raised in Daytona Beach, motor sports has been in his blood since childhood. It was only recently that Mike decided to pursue a career in sports writing and over the past two years has taken the necessary strides to one day becoming a professional NASCAR writer.

Mike is currently the Sports Editor for Daytona Beach Community College’s award winning student publication IN Motion and is also a regular contributor to the Daytona Beach News-Journal where he covers prep and college sports. Motor sports; however, is Mike’s passion and he would like to one day strictly cover racing.

A diehard sports fan, Mike is devoted to nothing more than his Philadelphia sports. He admits there is nothing more depressing than watching the Eagles, Phillies, and Flyers fall just short of a championship every season and he sometimes wonders if any of Philadelphia’s teams will ever win a title in his lifetime.

Mike enjoys watching the evolution of NASCAR from a regional sport to a worldwide phenomenon. While he does not necessarily have one favorite driver, Mike enjoys watching the sport’s future stars graduate from the minor leagues of ARCA or other regional series to the highest level of competition.
