Tony Lumbis

Contact Tony

The 1992 Hanes 500 at Martinsville would change Tony Lumbis’ life forever. After hearing a friend rave about a sport called NASCAR for several months, a curious 11-year-old finally decided to check out these stock car races for himself. On that April day, he watched the No. 6 Valvoline Ford driven by Mark Martin cross the finish line first, and NASCAR quickly had itself another new fan. Tony would continue following the series throughout the year, gaining respect for the Arkansas driver for both his tenacity on the track and his demeanor off it. The rest, as they say, is history.

Not satisfied to be just a fan of NASCAR, Tony knew he wanted to be involved in the business aspect in motorsports from an early age; his longtime dream is to become a NASCAR team owner. After attending Mike Calinoff’s “Getting into Racing Seminar” in 2006, Tony obtained access to the garage area at Pocono, where he met ARCA RE/MAX driver Art Seeger and quickly developed a strong partnership. Since that time, he has served as Art’s business manager, helping to put together the team’s promotional program while reaching out to potential marketing partners. Last summer Tony also joined the motorsports marketing division of Scuderia O2, a New York City based ad agency.

Last year, Tony added writing to his racing repertoire when he joined Frontstretch.com as a contributor, compiling the Nextel Cup Rookie Report, which appears on the site each Monday after the race. Not only will he be providing the rookie analysis once again in 2008 but Tony has also taken on the role of Frontsrtech.com marketing manager.

Tony lives in Conshohocken, PA where when he’s not watching racing, he enjoys running, going to the gym, playing (or attempting to play) the drums, golfing, traveling, stargazing and suffering with, or rather rooting on, his Philadelphia sports teams.
