Grammy-Award Winning Trisha Yearwood to Perform National Anthem at Historic 50th Daytona 500

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Grammy-Award winning county star Trisha Yearwood will perform the National Anthem for the historic 50th Running of the Daytona 500 on Feb. 17 at Daytona International Speedway.

"Trisha is one of the most enduring voices in American music," said Speedway President Robin Braig. "We're thrilled that she'll join us to sing our National Anthem and kick off our historical celebration along with the hundreds of thousands in attendance and the millions watching on television."

Yearwood, will be part of a musical array of talent performing at "The World Center of Racing" including the Sprint Pre-Race show featuring the most awarded duo in country music history with more than 80 industry awards, Brooks & Dunn, Chubby Checker, Michael McDonald and Kool & the Gang.
Past national anthem singers for the Daytona 500 – the biggest, richest and most prestigious NASCAR race – include Big & Rich, Fergie, Vanessa Williams, LeAnn Rimes and Mariah Carey.

ABOUT TRISHA YEARWOOD – One of the highest-selling female artists in Country music history, Entertainment Weekly has called the three-time Grammy Award winner “one of the finest interpretive singers ever.” Yearwood is a Grand Ole Opry member, three-time Country Music Award winner and a two-time Academy of Country Music Award winner. She has been honored with an American Music Award, a Pollstar Concert Industry Award and was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 2000.
