Curb Named as Grand Marshal for NASCAR Camping World East Strutmaster.com 150

July 15, 2008, Nashville – The Music City Motorplex is proud to announce that Mike Curb, founder of Curb Records and owner of Baker Curb Racing, will be the Grand Marshal of the NASCAR Camping World East Series Strutmaster.com 150 race to be held during the Motorplex’s 50th Anniversary Weekend on Saturday, July 19.
With several decades of expereince in the racing industry, Curb joined forces with former Bristol Motor Speedway owner Gary Baker to form Baker Curb Racing. In addition to at one time owning the cars driven by Earnhardt and Richard Petty – arguably NASCAR’s two most famous drivers — it was Curb who in 1984 as former Lt. Governor of California brought President Ronald Reagan to the Daytona Pepsi 400, scene of Petty’s 200th and final career victory in the Curb-owned car.
Curb also founded Curb Records, whose label has included many of the world’s most famous singers. Some of his current artists include Tim McGraw, LeAnn Rimes, Wynonna Judd, Clay Walker, Rodney Akins and Hank Williams Jr.

Appointed as Acting Governor of California from 1980 to 1982
NASCAR/Indy team owner, Owner of Dale Earnhardt Sr.’s first Cup Championship team and Richard Petty ‘s #43 team during Petty’s historical 200th career win at Daytona
Many professional awards and accolades including “2007 Nashvillian of the Year”
Gates for Saturday’s events will open at 2:30 p.m., with the Music City Motorplex NASCAR Late Model 125 lap race starting at 5:15 p.m. The NASCAR Camping World East Series race will begin at 7:30 p.m.
