Kasey Kahne Keeping Busy at New Hampshire Motor Speedway
Thursday June 25, 2009
LOUDON, N.H. (June 25, 2009) – When last weekend’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race winner Kasey Kahne comes to New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the LENOX Industrial Tools 301 weekend, he will go the EXTRA MILE and more.
Kahne will start his weekend tonight at “Fan Fest.” He will be on hand for a question and answer session with Greg Kretschmar of Greg and the Morning Buzz and Jamie Staton, Sports Director for WMUR/ABC 9. This session will be open to fans.
On Saturday, June 27, at 1:00 p.m., Kahne will drive for H&H Motorsports in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour New England 100. It will be Kahne’s first modified race.
“It’s a great car, nice and fast, with good people working on it,” said Kahne. “I love to race, so any chance that I have to drive a different type of car is a cool opportunity. The modified race at New Hampshire is always competitive. Those guys run pretty hard and it is going to be fun to be a part of it.”
“He’s driven plenty,” said former crew chief Tommy Baldwin, Jr., who rejoins Kahne for the New England 100. “We’ve tested at Bristol, so he’s had enough seat time. Nothing beats being behind the wheel.”
On Sunday, Kahne will return to his No. 9 Budweiser Dodge for the LENOX Industrial Tools 301 at 2:00 p.m. Over the course of the weekend, Kahne will participate in six practices, two qualifiers and two races for two different teams.
Admission to see Kasey Kahne at tonight’s “Fan Fest” is free. Tickets for all of the weekend’s races, including the LENOX Industrial Tools 301, are on sale now. The new MegaTicket package features three days of racing for $99. The LENOX Speed Zone seating section offers fans a $39 Sunday ticket. With these promotions, fans have the unique opportunity to experience NASCAR racing for approximately 13 cents a lap!
