Coby's Second Career Pole Comes at New Hampshire Motor Speedway for New England 100

LOUDON, N.H. (June 25, 2009) – Milford, Conn.‘s Doug Coby drove his No. 19 Major Motion Transport/Family Auto Center Chevrolet to the pole position for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour New England 100.
Coby earned his second career pole with a lap time of 30.003 seconds and a top speed of 126.947 mph.
“I just drove it hard,” said Coby. “I’ve learned from the time trials here at Loudon that you just have to drive it hard, trust the tires and trust the car.”
Todd Szegedy, of Ridgefield, Conn., was second with a lap time of 30.005 seconds. He posted a top speed of 126.939 mph driving the No. 2 UNOH/Wisk/Snuggle Ford.
Veteran Ted Christopher, of Plainville, Conn., was the third-fastest qualifier. The driver of the No. 36 Al-Lee Installations Chevrolet turned in a lap time of 30.025 seconds and a top speed of 126.854 mph.
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers Ryan Newman and Kasey Kahne also qualified for the New England 100. Newman, in the No. 7 Aggressive Hydraulics Chevrolet qualified sixth, while Kahne qualified his No. 96 Mowhawk Northeast/New England Race Fuels Chevrolet in 17th.
