Iowa Speedway Expects Record Crowd for NASCAR Race

Monday July 20, 2009

(Newton, Iowa) – July 17, 2009 – The largest crowd in Iowa racing history – well in excess of 50,000 people – is expected at Iowa Speedway Saturday,
August 1, for the inaugural running of the NASCAR Nationwide Series U.S.
Cellular 250 Presented by Northland Oil and TMC Transportation. The race
begins at 3:30 PM, and will be followed with a performance by James Otto on
the Grinnell Mutual Concert Stage.

Iowa Speedway President and Chief Financial Officer, Jerry Jauron, says
ticket sales continue at a rapid and historic pace. “We actually have less
than 1,000 tickets remaining for sale,” Jauron said, “and we’ve installed
25,000 additional temporary seats. That raises our seating capacity to
55,000 for the US Cellular 250! I encourage people to purchase tickets for
this historic event today, if they want a seat. For many, it will be the
racing experience of a lifetime.”

As a result of the record crowd, Iowa Speedway officials encourage racing
fans to leave home early to make it to the track in time to enjoy the race.
In addition, track officials say the stadium gates will open at 9:00 AM to
accommodate the large crowd. The parking lots will open at 6:00 AM.
Traffic is expected to be heavy on I-80 in the track vicinity at the 164 and
168 exits.

Tickets are still available for the Casey’s General Stores USAC Sprint Car
and Silver Crown Challenge race at Iowa Speedway Friday, July 31.
