Shepherd will also serve as the grand marshal for the NASCAR Nationwide Series race earlier that day.

“I’m very excited to perform following the CARFAX 250,” Shepherd said. “This is a perfect opportunity for me to combine my passion for playing music with my passion for fast cars and racing. Cars and guitars are what it’s all about for me.”

Kenny Wayne Shepherd is best known for his hit “Blue on Black.” His most recent release, “10 Days Out: Blues from the Backroads,” is a documentary film with a live album of songs from a 10-day trip around the United States to visit some of today’s greatest blues musicians.

Having toured with artists such as B.B. King, The Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan, the platinum recording artist is sure to please crowds at MIS.

“We’re excited to have Kenny Wayne Shepherd perform at Michigan International Speedway,” said track President Roger Curtis. “Hosting a concert is another step we are taking to show our commitment to the race fans. We are always looking for new and exciting ways to improve the fan experience at MIS.”
