Martinsville Speedway Hosting NASCAR Foundation Blood Drive On Sept. 18
Monday September 7, 2009
Race fans will be able to help save lives and at the same time enhance their
Martinsville Speedway race experience during The NASCAR Foundation Fourth Annual
Blood Drive on September 18.
The American Red Cross will be set up in the infield of Martinsville Speedway
from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on September 18. It is part of a NASCAR-wide effort that
has potentially saved more than 17,000 over the past three years.
Anyone registering to donate a pint of blood will receive a certificate for a
free ticket to the Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Pole Day on October 23. They
will also receive a gift bag of racing-related goodies.
“We know how NASCAR fans give back to their communities and this is just another
great opportunity for folks to help their community,” said Martinsville Speedway
president Clay Campbell. “It’s one of those things we love to be involved with.
I know many of our employees will be rolling up their sleeves and we expect many
other folks to help out, too.”
The goal for this year’s drive at Martinsville Speedway is 200 units. To make an
appointment, call 1.800.GIVE.LIFE. While appointments are suggested,
non-scheduled donors will be accepted on the day of the drive.
