San Bernardino County, Calif. (Oct. 2 , 2009) – Auto Club Speedway announced today that Dancing with the Stars celebrity contestant Kelly Osbourne will serve as Honorary Starter for the Copart 300, NNS race on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 1:30 p.m.

From the top of the flag stand on the Speedway’s start/finish line, Osbourne will wave the Green Flag to get the Copart 300 underway – the prelude to Auto Club Speedway’s inaugural Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup race – the Pepsi 500, on Sunday, Oct. 11.

Osbourne, 24 has achieved in the last 24 months what many artists fail to accomplish throughout their entire careers. In September 2007, Osbourne made the bold decision to take on four completely different projects in television, radio, musical theatre and fashion – and went on to win awards and recognition for each one.

After bursting onto TV screens at 15 in the Emmy Award Winning MTV series The Osbournes, Osbourne is expected to take reality TV by storm as a contestant in this season’s Dancing with the Stars with dance partner Louis Van Amstel. Dancing with the Stars airs Mondays (8:00 -10:00PM, ET) and Tuesdays (9:00 -10:00 PM, ET) on ABC.

Fans hoping to see Osbourne wave the flag, can take advantage of many race weekend ticket offers starting as low as $35 and including ticket packages to celebrate Hendrick Motorsports 25th Anniversary with Jeff Gordon and Dale Earnhardt, Jr.; a ticket deal to see the stars of NASCAR and the stars of TNA Wrestling’s Bound for Glory 2009; the chance to get up close and personal to Jimmie Johnson and so much more.

In addition to top notch live entertainment and a variety of race weekend ticket packages, fans experiencing Auto Club Speedway can also take advantage of free parking, bring in their own food, or partake in the unbelievable menu items on site as well as other cost-savings opportunities while enjoying a full day of entertainment and fun at a fantastic family value.
