Dear Loyal Frontstretch Faithful,
As another NASCAR season comes to a close, it’s time to gather with friends and family and be thankful for all that’s transpired in 2007.
The final gun at Homestead concluded my second of what I hope will be several years as Managing Editor of this site, a job that remains at times challenging but always gratifying. It’s thrilling to see the site grow and prosper; between our weekly podcast and guest appearances by columnists in radio and television broadcasts across the country, it’s clear the little site that could has now blossomed in ways we never expected. Now nine years old, with age has come respect from the racing community; with driver diaries by two Craftsman Truck Series drivers and relationships with sources from teams all across the board, it’s obvious our reach has expanded to levels beyond our wildest dreams.
But no matter how much we keep growing, there’s a core bond that brings all of us here together at Frontstretch – the passion to serve our growing base of loyal fans. We write to educate you, we write the truth as we see it, and we write for you to experience the emotional highs and lows this world of stock car racing can bring. But most importantly, we write to make you think; and I hope that more than ever, this group of 19 talented writers has done that for you this year, made enough of an impact on your day to keep you coming back for more. Thought is what creates change, what makes the world go round; and if we’ve got you using your brain, these writers have done their jobs. I know I think the world of them – and no matter if you agree or disagree with what we have to say, we all think the world of you.
So, as I sit down for dinner with those closest to me and give thanks, Frontstretch wants to sit down with you and give thanks – thanks for reading, thanks for commenting, thanks for following us and making Frontstretch what it is today.
Editor’s Note: There will be no new material on the site from Thursday, November 22nd through Sunday, November 25th in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Expect our offseason deluge of information to begin on Monday, November 26th.
