RAB Racing Penalty Upheld

NASCAR announced on Monday that the National Stock Car Racing Commission has upheld NASCAR’s penalty against the RAB Racing No. 09 Nationwide Series team.

The car, driven by John Wes Townley, was found to be in violation of several NASCAR rules for a roll bar that did not conform to NASCAR specifications. Townley was docked 100 driver points and the team was docked 100 owner points. Crew chief Blake Bainbridge was also fined $15,000.

The Commission found RAB Racing’s argument to be plausible but upheld that the team must be responsible for bringing a car to inspection that is within NASCAR’s rules.
