R3 Motorsports Issues Statement Following Suspension Of Team Member

NASCAR announced on Thursday that John Boyd, a crew member of the No. 23 R3 Motorsports Nationwide Series team, has been suspended indefinitely for violating NASCAR’s substance-abuse policy. Boyd was found in violation of Sections 12-1 and 7-5 of the rule book. He is the second team member to be suspended.

Following the penalty, R3 Motorsports issued a statement saying: “We strongly support NASCAR and their continued effort regarding their substance abuse policy. NASCAR respectfully contacted us in advance to inform us of the test results for Mr. Boyd. We thank them for their professionalism in this matter.”

Michael Waltrip To Appear On My Name Is Earl

Michael Waltrip, driver of the NAPA No. 55 Toyota in the Sprint Cup series, will be making an appearance on NBC’s sitcom My Name Is Earl. The episode is scheduled to air on April 30 at 8PM. April 30th is also Waltrip’s 46th birthday. On the show, Waltrip will play himself and help Earl out of a jam.

“In my opinion, My Name is Earl is an instant classic,” said Waltrip. “I am proud to be a part of this show as it always tells a great story about Earl’s need to do good things for people. How he gets to the resolution is absolutely hilarious.”

Waltrip was offered the opportunity by Greg Garcia, the executive producer of the show, after being recommended by Auto Club Speedway president Gillian Zucker.

Jeff Gordon To Make Appearance For Monster Mile Club at Dover

Jeff Gordon, driver of the DuPont No. 24 Chevrolet and four time Sprint Cup Champion, will be making an appearance for the Monster Mile Club at Dover Speedway before the May 31 Sprint Cup race. The Monster Mile Club is a hospitality option at Dover.

Gordon will be hosting a question-and-answer session for those in attendance. In addition to Gordon’s appearance, club members will receive a tour of the track’s frontstretch, a buffet lunch with beverages and additional privileges. A Monster Mile Club ticket costs $99 and can be purchased at Dover Speedway’s website.

Dover Speedway encourages fans to buy their tickets quickly as they often sell out.
