Goodyear Planning Tests At Indy, Atlanta

Following many driver complaints after the spring 2008 Atlanta Cup race and the subsequent multiple cautions at Indianapolis, Goodyear has announced that they will do further testing at both speedways. The company has already conducted two tests at Indianapolis since last year’s race.

“We feel like we’ve got a real good handle on the range of the compounds that are necessary to give us a tread wear on this car at that race track,” said Greg Stucker, director of race tire sales for the company. “When we go back here in April, we’re going to build off that compound work we did in the fall and look at some construction changes.

More testing at Atlanta Motor Speedway was scheduled as drivers still complained about the handling of the tires at this year’s event.

Bowyer To Appear On Biggest Loser

Clint Bowyer, driver of the No.33 Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing, has agreed to appear on ABC’s The Biggest Loser, a show that challenges overweight people to get in shape. Bowyer will be a witness to the strength of contestants.

“Being involved with The Biggest Loser was a real eye-opener,” said Bowyer. “The show is all about winning. It was amazing to see how hard everyone works and the sacrifices they make. I can’t wait to see the show on Tuesday night.”

“Clint is the real deal,” said Mark Koops, executive producer of the show. “Any racer could have come to the show, but Clint’s ‘regular guy’ story is really something special. He was given an opportunity and made the most of it. He worked hard to get to where he is today. It’s really quite an inspirational story.”

The show featuring Bowyer will air on Tuesday, March 24, at 9-11 PM on ABC.
