Kyle Busch laid down the fastest lap during Nationwide qualifying to claim the pole position for the 30th annual Food City 250. Busch laid down a lap of 15.979 seconds for a speed of 120.083 mph. Busch was the only driver to break into the 120 mph range. Starting next to Busch on the front row is his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Joey Logano who toured the half mile track at Bristol in 15.997 seconds which is a speed of 119.947 mph. The pole is Busch’s 23rd pole position in 219 career Nationwide starts. He is tied with Sam Ard, Jeff Green and Kevin Harvick for fourth on the all-time series pole list. This is also the second pole for Busch in 15 career Bristol Nationwide races.
Elliott Sadler is starting on the inside of the second row with a 16.015 second lap for a speed of 119.813 mph. Sadler starts alongside Kenny Wallace who made it around the track in 16.067 seconds for a speed of 119.425 mph. The third row is comprised of Jason Leffler and Carl Edwards.
